The palm oil filter press is a plate and frame filtration system used to remove fine impurities, suspended solids, and residual sludge from crude palm oil after clarification. It ensures the oil meets the required quality standards before drying and storage.

Working Principle:

The crude palm oil from the clarification tank is pumped into the filter press under pressure. The oil passes through the filter cloth between the plates while impurities and fine solids are retained on the cloth surface, forming a filter cake. The filtered oil, now free of suspended solids, flows out through the discharge channels. When the pressure differential indicates the filter is full, the press is opened to remove the cake, and the cycle repeats. The clean filtrate is then sent to the vacuum drying system for final moisture removal.
