The POME treatment system provides a comprehensive solution for treating palm oil mill effluent (POME), one of the most significant environmental challenges in palm oil production. This integrated system combines anaerobic digestion, aerobic treatment, and biogas recovery to achieve compliance with environmental discharge standards.

Working Principle:

Raw POME from the mill is first screened to remove large solids, then flows into the anaerobic digestion tank where microorganisms break down organic matter in the absence of oxygen, producing biogas (mainly methane) as a byproduct. The biogas is captured and can be used as fuel for the biomass boiler or power generation. The effluent then enters the aerobic treatment stage, where air is introduced to support aerobic bacteria that further degrade remaining organic compounds. The final treated water is clarified and meets environmental standards for discharge or land application.
